Graduate Students

I am recruiting multiple highly motivated PhD students in transportation, at the UConn Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

Applicant Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering with focus on Transportation, or a transportation-adjacent field (e.g., Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, etc.)
  • GPA of 3.5 or higher

Research Areas

Applicants with research interests or experience in at least on of the following topics are encouraged to apply:

  • Emerging vehicle and infrastructure technologies, and intelligent transportation systems
    • including: vehicle automation, connectivity, ubiquitous sensing, transportation notification and information systems, traffic monitoring and control systems;
  • Modeling and operation of shared-use autonomous mobility services
    • including: demand prediction, fleet management and operations;
  • Transportation network modeling
  • Traffic flow modeling, prediction and simulation
  • Applications of data science, information theory, urban informatics, and/or artificial intelligence in the context of any of the above
